Sick ,Sick ,Sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sick, sick, sick. What a month. We start with seizures and end with double ear infections, bronchial virus. and RSV. So far 2009 has brought us lots of doctors visits. We gave the doctor a first in his career, we brought 3 boys 6 ears and 6 ear infections. He was shocked since they're not contagious. Owen also had fluid in his lungs(Owen did great during his chest x-rays) and tyson might have so they treated them for the bronchial virus.

Here is Owen looking miserable.

This is our daily medication which most has to be taken at least 2 times a day
Here is Gavin getting His Breathing treatments he gets them 3 to 6 times a day. we also have his MRI and EEG this week we will let you know how those go.
This was just a cute shot of Ty Clint got for his class we wanted to throw in a cute picture so that it wasn't all bad.
Lets hope for a better February.

Quick Update

This is just a quick update on Gav. We took him to the neurologist yesterday He is pretty sure it is the same thing that Clint and Owen had (benign infantile familial convulsions) So he decided to put him on medication. I have to say I am a little relived by it since I was so scared of him having a second one I haven't slept much in the past five days I think in the past 48 hours I have gotten 6 hours sleep. Last night was a little better since he started meds but I think it will take me a while to sleep the whole night again. I woke up to every move or Change in his breathing pattern. We have scheduled some more testing (EEG and MRI) for the 23rd just to make sure that if it is something else we don't miss it. Clint and I are exhausted and ready for some sleep. We will keep you posted.

Not Again!!!

Well It has been a long week. Gavin had his 4 month old checkup and he only weighed 11 lb 8 oz so he was like in the 1% for weight,he was also in the 12% for height and 7 % head. Well I have never had a small baby but the doctor wasn't too worried, he did however want to schedule an appointment to re-weight him in two weeks. Well Gavin decided he didn't want to wait that long to see his lovely Doctor. That's right he decided to follow his dad's and Owen's footsteps and have a seizure on us. We have been through this all before but I am finding it is just as terrifying the second time as it was the first time I went through it. On Saturday I woke up to something at 5:07am ( probably Gavin) and I looked into the crib and his left arm was shaking so I turned on my flashlight and saw his eyes rolled back and his whole body was shaking, and he was starting to look a pale purple color. well you can imagine my reaction( if some of you don't remember with Owens second seizure I ran to the fire station) I grabbed Gavin, I screamed for Clint and started to get dressed.I grabbed my phone but I was shaking so hard I had a hard time dialing. I called my neighbor and asked if I could bring the keys over and the monitor so she could listen for the boys. Thank goodness for great neighbors and a town house you can actually do that with, I felt so bad calling at that time in the morning. Well to make a long story short, the hospital did some test but they said they couldn't put him on medication because every baby gets a free seizure ( what kind of policy is that) With the family history I knew exactly what I was dealing with so I was mad and being a Saturday I couldn't get in with Dr. Davenport for the whole weekend. So Clint's parents came to save us and helped us do a 24 hour watch on him. I am terrified cause he hasn't had what I call the big one. He had like what Owen had the first time. Owens second one was much more traumatic for me he quite breathing and that is when I ran to the fire station. ( way to just throw all my CPR and first aid training out the window:) We called 911 and that was my first ride in and ambulance. So I don't think I could sleep even if I wanted to. You never realize how twitchy babies are until you watch ones every move. My heart drops every time he makes a sound or flairs an arm or even when he looks up at his mobile. We are now on what the Doctors call the seizure fast track. I guess it takes months to get into primary children's neurology center, But on the fast track we will get in this week. we don't know much now. they don't want to put him on anything till after the MRI and the EEG cause the medication can mask the seizures, so we are still doing the 24 hour watch. That could get tricky cause Clint has work and school on Wednesday so I will have to do it on my own. I don't know if they will ever put him on anything but if they don't I probably wont sleep again EVER. Anyway The good news is Gavin gained 1 whole lb in less then a week!! way to grow Gavin. We really appreciated every one's prayers and for those who fasted for us. Its been working!! we will hopefully know more by the end of the week!!!

P.S.
Thanks again Benny and Linda you saved the weekend!
