Sandpoint Vacation

OK so a little advanced warning, this might be a little long because there are lots of pictures. For the fourth of July we went up to Sandpoint for our family vacation. It was so fun. I haven't been home for the 4th in like 5 years so it was nice to go back and do some of the old family traditions I grew up with. We got to spend a whole week and a little there. It was a great relaxing vacation. we went with the flow the whole time and didn't make any major plans. I will post the pictures and kind of explain what we did while we were there.

This is a picture of Owen we got in to Sandpoint on Thursday the 3rd around 2:30pm the boys were so excited to be out of the car we didn't get the boys in bed until like 9:30 then Owen decided he was up for the day at 4:45 am (mind you they usually never wake up before 8) so by 11 o'clock this what Owen was like. He fell asleep while watching the letter factory.

Its a good thing they got a good nap in cause we went down to the city beach for fireworks. It is so fun to go. we all sit on the sand and they shoot them above the water. The fireworks were amazing. Way to go Sandpoint!!! After the fire works we went home and had root beer floats.

We also got in a little golf. well not so much me as it was uncomfortable to swing but everyone else did, They used floating golf balls, then Trish and dad had to go canoe and find them all.

This is just some pictures of our outdoor fun, we played a lot on the front porch and this is the boys on the porch swing.

This is all three of the boys (my sister Trish was there with her little cute carrot top Kaleb) and grandma thinking it is winter and sleeping in the sleds.

Here are the boys with grandma trying the help her weed her garden that was and probably still is in need of major weeding.

This was just a cute picture Clint got of Ty sitting on a stump down by the lake on one of there walks.

Here are some swimming pictures. This is Owen playing in the sand. They spent more time on the sand then in the water.

Here they are enjoying some otter pops.

Here are Owen and Tyson on the hammock swing, they loved swinging in it. Tyson especially liked it.
Owen liked his floaty car better out of the water then in it.

This was just a cute picture of Ty playing outside. Here are the boys cooking, they helped us make carmel popcorn and Cinnamon rolls, then they wanted to keep cooking so we let them play cook with water. Will just say the floor was a little short of being its own swimming pool when they were done.

Grandpa was busy making all sorts of trails on the back property before we got there and the boys loved going on them and exploring all the different ways they could go and looking at EVERY flower along the way.

This is a family picture we took at the big family party we had. It was so much fun to see everyone.

Grandma playing with the three boys. Its always hard to get a good picture of all of them looking.
The boys liked to help grandpa set the sprinklers in the evening.

The boys putting rocks in the little wagon. they did this a lot while we were there. I don't know what is so entertaining about putting rocks into things but they sure did enjoy it.

Here is Owen playing croquet. They were so HELPFUL ;) while we tried to play an adult game.
Tyson looks like a little track star in this picture. I can just hear him saying Oh yeah watch how far I can throw it.

Here are the boys planting rocks with great grandma chapin. good thing that there was nothing in the planters at the time. Of course after we left grandma said things were growing and I told her those were our rock plants.

So that's it. we had a great time and we are looking forward to next years trip with another addition to the family. Hopefully we can withstand the 13 hour drive with three boys. We love and miss you all. Thanks for the great trip.

Family Party and Pictures

I finally got around to posting this. Since we were on vacation, we weren't able to post it, so its a little late. We had a family party in Layton about two weeks ago. It was a special occasion because we had a lot of family here that we haven't seen in a long time. Grandma and Grandpa Regnier came down from Lovell, Kristie and John came from Boise, Cody and Doyle (along with their family) came from Colorado, and everyone who lives close was able to make it. It was a lot of fun. We took this opportunity to get some family photos, and we tried our best to get a good picture of our family, but Tyson and Owen were due for a nap, and they didn't enjoy posing for pictures. I think we finally got a good one, but it took quite a while. Here is the best picture.
Here is a big family picture, with my immediate family. This one took a while also
While we were there, the boys were fascinated my Montes chickens. They have been raising chickens for eggs (and eventually meat) in a little coup they made. They have quite a few chicks, and a few more fully grown chickens. The boys keep staring at the chicks, and kept trying to feed them hay through the fence. Monte opened the gate and let Tyson and Owen run free with the chickens. They were cute. They weren't sure what to think at first, but they eventually got more comfortable with them and even tried to grab them (Tyson and Owen both reached for one chicken and it jumped to get away from them. They both were shocked that it could do that.)

Here is Tyson trying to feed the chicks.
Here is Owen petting one of the chickens. He eventually got more comfortable.
The only bad part of the party was the ride home. We got on the freeway, and as we started to leave, we got stuck in some bad traffic. what would normally only take 15 minutes to drive (from Layton to Lagoon) took over an hour and a half! It narrowed from 3 lanes down to 2, for about a mile or two, then from two lanes down to one for another couple of miles. I knew road construction was bad in the Ogden area, but I had no idea it was that bad. Thank goodness we don't travel that way too often.
